Utah laws regarding guns?

I have a question regarding some of the gun laws in Utah. My question being that I recently bought a .44 magnum revolver and wondering if it's legal for me to carry around to gun up to the barn being 16 due to rattle snakes. The holster I have for it would not conceal it and the gun would be in the open. Any information that anyone can give me with a source will be greatly appreciated.
