Best gun for concealed carry?

I am about 5'10 165lbs so I am a slender person. I am looking for a gun and holster suggestions. I generally wear jeans and a tshirt so keep that in mind with your suggestions. Obviously, reliability is the main issue and I have a budget of around $1500 but would be willing to spend more for the right gun. So what would you suggest?
